An international business can be grown in a number of different ways. Two of the most frequently used strategies are (a) the appointment of regional or national distributors to buy products from our clients to sell to a local retail network developed and managed by that distributor, and (b) the appointment of licensees to source products themselves bearing our client’s marks, then sell them on to retailers in designated territories.
Clients also need to understand how they themselves will use the internet and how this complements internet sales (if allowed) by the local party.
S&A has been involved in the negotiation and management of countless such arrangements across the world over the course of the past twenty-five years. There are many ways in which these deals can differ.
We act for both brands and distributors/licensees in such matters. It is by bringing this experience to bear that S&A has managed to successfully broker lasting arrangements for many of our clients. By allying with S&A our clients immediately gain access to this expertise. |
